Acceptance of These Terms

By using the ALOE website, creating a learner account, purchasing a course, or accessing course materials, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms.

Your use of ALOE is also subject to our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and other applicable policies.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not purchase or access an ALOE course.

About ALOE Courses

ALOE—Advanced Learning Online Education—is Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation continuing education provider #2415.

ALOE provides online continuing education for eligible Texas beauty and barber professionals, including cosmetologists, estheticians, manicurists, hair weaving specialists, barbers, and eyelash extension specialists.

Course availability, subjects, formats, prices, and features may differ by profession and course.

Choosing the Correct Course

You are responsible for selecting the course that applies to your license type, licensing history, and renewal requirements.

The two-hour course includes one hour of Sanitation and one hour of Human Trafficking Prevention. The additional two hours are waived only for an eligible licensee.

Contact ALOE or TDLR before purchasing if you are uncertain which course applies to you.

Eligibility and Accurate Information

You must be legally able to enter into these Terms or have the authorization of a parent or legal guardian.

You agree to provide complete and accurate information, including your legal name, email address, license type, and Texas license number when required.

Incorrect, incomplete, or mismatched information may delay course access, certificate creation, or TDLR reporting.

Learner Accounts

You may be required to create or use an individual learner account to access a course. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and current account information
• Keep your password and login credentials confidential
• Use only the account assigned to you
• Notify ALOE promptly about suspected unauthorized access

An enrollment is intended for one learner. Sharing an account or allowing another person to complete any part of your course is prohibited.

Prices and Payments

Course prices are shown on the applicable course page or during checkout. You will have an opportunity to review the price before completing your purchase.

Payments are processed through a third-party payment provider. You agree to provide valid payment information and authorize the applicable charge for your selected course.

ALOE may correct pricing or description errors before accepting or fulfilling an order. If a material error affects a completed purchase, ALOE will contact you and provide an appropriate option.

Course Access and Formats

After a successful purchase, you will receive access to the course selected during enrollment. Any applicable access period will be displayed on the course page, during enrollment, or in your learner account.

Where offered, a four-hour course may be available in two separate formats:

The Interactive Course and Audio & Reading Course are separate enrollment choices. “Read, listen, or do both” refers only to the ways you may complete the Audio & Reading Course.

Purchasing one format does not automatically provide access to the other format. Contact ALOE if you believe you selected the wrong format.

Course Completion and Certificates

A course is complete only after the enrolled learner completes all required lessons, instructional time, knowledge checks, quizzes, acknowledgments, and other required activities.

A certificate is available immediately after successful course completion. You are responsible for downloading and keeping a copy for your records.

TDLR currently instructs licensees to retain their course completion certificate for two years after the completion date.

ALOE may correct a certificate containing an error or replace a certificate after verifying the learner’s completion record.

TDLR Reporting and License Renewal

ALOE reports completed course hours to TDLR within one business day after successful course completion.

Weekends, holidays, incorrect learner information, system outages, or matters requiring manual review may affect when information becomes visible in TDLR’s system.

You are responsible for reviewing your certificate and learner information for accuracy and notifying ALOE promptly if a correction is needed.

Completing an ALOE course does not renew your license by itself. You must also complete the TDLR renewal process, submit the required application, and pay any state renewal fee.

Cancellations and Refunds

Refund eligibility and the procedure for requesting a refund are governed by the ALOE Refund Policy.

Purchasing a course confirms that you have had an opportunity to review the Refund Policy before completing the purchase.

Course Materials and Intellectual Property

ALOE’s website, branding, lessons, text, audio, graphics, activities, quizzes, downloads, and other course materials are owned by ALOE or used with permission and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Your purchase provides a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to access the purchased course for your own continuing education.

You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, record, publish, or distribute a course
• Share course materials or login credentials
• Resell or sublicense course access or content
• Post course materials on social media or other websites
• Use ALOE materials in another training program without written permission
• Remove copyright, trademark, or ownership notices

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Provide false or misleading learner or license information
• Complete a course or assessment for another person
• Allow another person to complete your course
• Attempt to bypass required instructional time or activities
• Circumvent security features or interfere with the website, course platform, or another learner’s account
• Upload malicious code or use automated tools without permission
• Use ALOE services for an unlawful or fraudulent purpose

ALOE may suspend access while suspected misconduct is reviewed and may cancel an enrollment when a material violation is confirmed.

Technology and Third-Party Services

ALOE courses require a compatible device, supported web browser, reliable internet connection, and the ability to receive email. You are responsible for providing the equipment and internet service needed to participate.

ALOE uses third-party services for functions such as course delivery, website hosting, email, and payment processing. Those services may have separate terms and privacy policies.

ALOE works to maintain reliable access but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, third-party outages, internet failures, and circumstances outside ALOE’s reasonable control may temporarily affect access.

Contact ALOE promptly if a technical issue is preventing course access or completion.

Accessibility and Course Support

ALOE works to improve the usability of its website and course materials. Participating Audio & Reading Courses include complete written lessons and audio narration so learners may read, listen, or combine both methods.

Available features differ by course and format. ALOE does not represent that every website page, course, format, or third-party service meets every accessibility standard.

Disclaimers

ALOE provides continuing education and does not issue, renew, suspend, or reinstate professional licenses. Licensing decisions are made by TDLR or the applicable regulatory authority.

Course information is based on requirements available when the course is published or updated. Laws, rules, agency guidance, and licensing requirements may change.

Except for warranties that cannot legally be excluded, the website, learning portal, and course materials are provided on an “as available” basis. ALOE does not guarantee that a service will always be uninterrupted or free from errors.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, ALOE will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use the website, learning portal, courses, or materials.

To the extent permitted by law, ALOE’s total liability for a claim relating to a purchased course will not exceed the amount paid to ALOE for that course.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits a right or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Changes, Suspension, and Termination

ALOE may update these Terms to reflect changes in our services, business practices, technology, or legal requirements. Updated Terms will be posted with a revised “Last updated” date.

Changes will apply prospectively unless a different effective date is stated or applicable law requires otherwise.

ALOE may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, investigate misuse, comply with law, or address a material violation of these Terms.

Governing Law and General Provisions

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except when another law must apply.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. ALOE’s failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.

These Terms and the policies incorporated into them form the agreement between you and ALOE concerning the services they address.
