What is ALOE?
ALOE—Advanced Learning Online Education is TDLR-approved continuing education provider #2415. We provide online CE courses for Texas beauty and barber professionals.
ALOE offers courses for cosmetologists, estheticians, manicurists, hair weaving specialists, barbers, and eyelash extension specialists. Courses can be completed online from a phone, tablet, or computer.
Do I need the four-hour course or the two-hour course?
Licensed Less Than 15 Years
Choose the four-hour course if you have held your Texas license for less than 15 years.
Licensed 15 Years or More
You may qualify for the two-hour course if you have held your Texas license for at least 15 years.
The two-hour option still includes both required subjects: one hour of Sanitation and one hour of Human Trafficking Prevention.
What is included in the four-hour course?
The four-hour course includes:
- One hour of Sanitation
- One hour of Human Trafficking Prevention
- Two hours of additional profession-related subjects approved by TDLR
Additional subjects may include Mental Health Awareness, Business Practices, and Texas Licensing, Laws and Rules, depending on the course selected.
What is included in the two-hour course?
The two-hour course includes:
- One hour of Sanitation
- One hour of Human Trafficking Prevention
This course is intended for licensees who qualify for the reduced two-hour CE requirement after holding their Texas license for at least 15 years.
What course formats are available?
For participating four-hour courses, you can choose between two course formats:
Visual and Interactive
Complete visual, tap-through lessons with interactive activities, knowledge checks, and quizzes.
Read, Listen, or Combine Both
Read the complete course, listen to the audio narration, or read and listen together. Required knowledge checks and quizzes are also included.
These are two separate course choices. Reading and listening are two ways to complete the same Audio & Reading Course.
Are courses available in multiple languages?
The Interactive Course is available in English. Participating Audio & Reading Courses are available in English, Español, and Tiếng Việt.

How much does a course cost?
ALOE’s four-hour courses are currently priced at $24.99. The price includes course access, your certificate of completion, and reporting to TDLR.
The current price for the two-hour course is displayed on its course page before checkout, so you can review the total before purchasing.
How do I pay?
Pay securely online using an accepted credit or debit card. After checkout, you will receive access to your course and a payment confirmation.
When will I receive my certificate?
Your certificate is available immediately after you complete your course. You can download and save it for your records.
When will ALOE report my hours to TDLR?
ALOE reports completed course hours to TDLR within one business day.
Your certificate is available immediately, but your completed hours may not appear in the TDLR system at the exact same moment.
Can I leave the course and return later?
Yes. Your progress saves automatically. You can leave the course, sign back in later, and continue from where you stopped.
Can I use a phone, tablet, or computer?
Yes. ALOE courses are designed to work on phones, tablets, and computers. You can also begin on one supported device and continue later on another.
Does completing the course renew my license?
No. Completing your required continuing education is one part of the renewal process.
You must also submit your license renewal application and pay the required state renewal fee through TDLR.
