Accessibility & Course Support
Last updated: August 31, 2026
ALOE works to make online continuing education easier to use for learners with different needs. This page explains the course formats and features currently available, their known limitations, and how to contact us for assistance.
Our Approach
ALOE created the Audio & Reading Course to provide alternatives to a fully visual, tap-through learning experience. That course includes complete written lessons and audio narration for every instructional section.
The separate Interactive Course was not designed as an accessibility-focused or ADA-compliant course. ALOE did not create that format for ADA compliance.
We describe the specific features that are available instead of claiming that either course is universally accessible or compliant with a particular legal or technical standard.
Accessibility may vary depending on:
- The course and course format selected
- The learner’s device and browser
- The assistive technology being used
- Features and limitations of the TalentLMS platform
- The interactive quizzes required for course completion
Understanding the Two Course Formats
Where both formats are offered, learners choose either the Interactive Course or the Audio & Reading Course. They are separate course enrollments.
Interactive Course
A visual, tap-through learning experience available in English.
- Visual lesson screens
- Tap-through course navigation
- Interactive activities
- On-screen knowledge checks and quizzes
- Available in English
The Interactive Course was not designed to be an accessible or ADA-compliant course. ALOE did not create or test this format for ADA compliance. Its visual, tap-through design may not be suitable for learners who rely on screen readers or other assistive technologies.
Audio & Reading Course
A course that allows learners to read the lessons, listen to them, or combine both methods.
- Complete written lessons for every course section
- Audio narration for every course section
- Read, listen, or read and listen together
- On-screen interactive quizzes through TalentLMS
- English · Español · Tiếng Việt
The written lessons may support some learners who use screen-reading technology, but the course has not been formally tested with every screen reader. Learners must still complete the required visual, interactive quizzes presented on screen.
Reading and listening are not separate courses. They are two ways to experience the same Audio & Reading Course. A learner may use either method or combine both.
Complete Written Course Content
Every instructional section in the Audio & Reading Course is provided in written form. A learner does not have to rely only on audio to receive the lesson content.
Providing the complete course in text may be useful for:
- Learners who prefer reading
- Learners who cannot listen to audio
- Learners who want to follow the text while listening
- Some learners who use screen-reading or text-to-speech technology
ALOE created complete written lessons with screen-reader use in mind, but the Audio & Reading Course has not been formally tested with all screen readers, devices, browsers, or operating systems.
Audio for Every Instructional Section
Every instructional section of the Audio & Reading Course includes audio narration. Learners can listen to the lesson instead of reading it or listen while following the written text.
Audio narration does not replace the required interactive quizzes. Learners must view and complete the quizzes on screen to finish the course.
Available Languages
The Audio & Reading Course is available in three languages:
Both the written lessons and audio narration are provided in the language selected for the Audio & Reading Course.
The separate Interactive Course is currently available only in English.
Required Interactive Quizzes
Both course formats include required on-screen knowledge checks or quizzes. The quizzes are presented through the TalentLMS learning platform and are interactive and visual.
Even when a learner listens to the complete Audio & Reading Course, the learner must still use the screen to complete the required quizzes.
A learner who cannot independently view or interact with the TalentLMS quizzes should contact ALOE before purchasing so we can explain the current course requirements and available support.
TalentLMS and Other Third-Party Services
ALOE uses TalentLMS to deliver courses, save learner progress, present quizzes, and provide course-completion records.
ALOE creates and controls its course content, but we do not control every feature, interface, update, or accessibility limitation of TalentLMS, web browsers, payment providers, or other third-party services.
A change made by a third-party provider may affect how a course works with a particular device or assistive technology.
Known Limitations
Current limitations include:
- Required quizzes are interactive and must be completed visually on screen
- The Interactive Course was not designed as an accessible or ADA-compliant course
- ALOE did not create or test the Interactive Course for ADA compliance
- The Interactive Course relies heavily on visual, tap-through content
- The Interactive Course is available only in English
- The Audio & Reading Course has not undergone a formal ADA or WCAG conformance evaluation
- The Audio & Reading Course has not been tested with every screen reader or assistive technology
- TalentLMS and other third-party features may create barriers that ALOE cannot directly change
- Course behavior may differ depending on the device, browser, operating system, and assistive technology used
Contact Us Before Purchasing
If you use assistive technology or are unsure whether a course format will meet your needs, contact ALOE before purchasing.
We can explain:
- The difference between the two course formats
- Which languages are available
- How the written and audio lessons work
- How the required quizzes are presented
- Known limitations of the course and platform
ALOE cannot guarantee that every requested modification or method of access will be available, but we will make a good-faith effort to explain the available options and provide reasonable assistance within our course and platform capabilities.
Report an Accessibility Problem
If you experience difficulty using the ALOE website or a course, please tell us:
- The webpage, course, lesson, or quiz involved
- A description of the problem
- The device and browser you were using
- The assistive technology being used, if you are comfortable sharing that information
- Any error message you received
This information helps us understand the problem and determine whether we can correct it, provide guidance, or report it to the applicable third-party provider.
Ongoing Improvement
ALOE may update course content, written materials, audio, instructions, website design, and support information as we identify practical ways to improve usability.
An update or improvement should not be interpreted as a certification that the website, course, or platform fully complies with the ADA, WCAG, or every accessibility requirement.
