Texas barbering and cosmetology continuing education now includes one hour of Sanitation and one hour of Human Trafficking Prevention.

What Is Required?

Your total required hours depend on how long you have held your Texas license. Both options include the two required subjects.

Licensed Less Than 15 Years

4 Hours

1 hour Sanitation Required CE subject
1 hour Human Trafficking Prevention Required CE subject
2 hours Additional Approved Topics Profession-related subjects allowed by TDLR

Licensed 15 Years or More

2 Hours

The 15-year allowance reduces the total CE requirement to two hours, but both required subjects must still be completed.
